Commissioner Stisher’s district encompasses all of Southern Morgan County, from the south side city limits of Hartselle to the Cullman County line. West from Bankhead Forest bordering Lawrence County, easterly through the communities of Andrews Chapel, Massey, Lebanon, Round Top, Lacon, Town of Falkville, Leesdale, McGlathery Town, Cold Springs, Gandy’s Cove, Union Hill Church Community, Oden Ridge, Eva, Lawrence Cove, Rock Creek, Gum Pond and the foothills of Ryan Mountain on the eastern edge leading into District 4.
In addition to his responsibility of maintain roads and county rights-of-way. Commissioner Stisher manages his shop’s fiscal budget and he shares the responsibility of the county’s overall budget with the other commissioners and chairman.
Commissioner Stisher works with other municipalities, including Falkville and Eva, on projects to improve the quality of life of residents. He also partners with eight volunteer fire departments on various projects.
He and his wife Van Foote Stisher, owner of Van’s Barber Shop, reside in Falkville. They have one daughter and one grandson.
He is a member of the Decatur/Morgan County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Alabama Mountain Lakes Association, Princess Theater of the Performing Arts Board, Morgan County School Career Tech Advisory Council, Association of County Commissions of Alabama’ legislative committee, and serves at the will of the governor on the state’s Workforce Development Committee.
