This department was established in October 2012, for the purpose of promoting Morgan County and keeping its residents in touch with their local government.
To achieve these goals the commission decided to publish a quarterly publication: The Voice of Morgan County. The 16-page product carries information about County services and features the county's employees along with other articles about happenings in and around the courthouse. The first edition was published in December. On this page you will find archived and current copies of the publication.

About the Director

Sheryl Marsh is a 37-year veteran journalist who retired from the profession in 2012, to become Morgan County’s Communications Director.

Her award-winning career was divided between two newspapers, The Daily Home (Sister newspaper to The Anniston Star) and
The Decatur Daily.

She is a 2011, Maynard Institute for Journalism Education Fellow, having been one of 12 journalists from throughout the United States chosen to receive a Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Fellowship to study multimedia editing at the University of Nevada-Reno. Maynard Institute is in association with Harvard University and The Nieman Foundation.

Her duties as the County’s Communications Director include producing a quarterly publication, writing press releases and coordinating events for the courthouse. She also produces multimedia projects from community events and she manages the county’s Facebook page.
